Marketing and operational systems are your best friends in business. In order to grow your cleaning business, you absolutely must have proven systems in place— portions of your business that run automatically and aren’t reliant on you being there at all.

Discovering how to automate your marketing and operations is priceless— I could never have become an absentee owner without these proven systems in place. If you are struggling to make progress with your business, a big part of what is probably holding you back is a lack of automated systems. Not only does this prevent you from growing your business, but you’re having to do everything yourself.

Take marketing, for example. You’ll never be able to add a million dollars in revenue if all your marketing is a reaction to a crisis. If your marketing is in response to you just having hired someone and needing to fill their work schedule, that’s a crisis reaction. When you apply marketing only in reaction to a crisis, you settle for booking one-time cleanings instead of chasing down the more lucrative recurring cleanings. By tailoring your marketing automation to drive high-paying, recurring clients, you’ll be bringing in $3,000- $4,500 a year per new client instead of the few hundred dollars you get from a one-time cleaning.

For the first 15 years running my cleaning business, I was in a situation where my presence was completely necessary to my business. But at a certain point, I realized I couldn’t grow my business if I was such a critical part of the day-to-day operations. I was able to achieve success after automating the below five components that we focus on systematizing in my Cleaning Business Fundamentals program (CBF).

Automate these 5 pieces of your cleaning business

1- Mop-free owners

First things first. Our top priority is to get you, as the cleaning business owner, out of the field. You can’t clean houses if you want to build an empire. We have a 90-days-to-mop-free approach in CBF that helps get you out of the field so you can hand off and automate the delivery of your services. Right now if you are doing the cleaning and if your services are not automated, your revenue stops when you go on vacation. And who wants that?

2- Profit model

By systemizing your profit model, your profit is predictable for every dollar you bring in. When you don’t have a system or formula to protect your profit, your profits sink fast when you outsource the service so that you can experience some freedom. Without a system, you won’t make any money for all the time, energy, and effort you put into your cleaning business. I’ll help you create a formula to protect your profit so that you can begin to step away from your day-to-day operations.

3- Staffing and training

Your staffing and training absolutely must be an automated system. Otherwise, you—the owner—are out there training every time you hire new people. If the only time that trainees turn out well is when the owner trains them, that is not an automated system. We systematize the onboarding and training of our staff members. We also systematize and automate employee retention. Your retention policy can’t just be, “I hope she doesn’t quit!”

4- Marketing and branding

I am a huge believer in automating your marketing and branding. These marketing automations should be able to run on their own without much effort or coordination on your part. This will save you from marketing only in response to crisis or trying to brand your business to stand apart from all your cheap competitors.

5- Sales process

Finally, you absolutely must automate your sales process so that sales can happen even when you are out of town. If you have to leave your business for a month or a year, would you have anything to come back to? If you would return to a badly crippled business after extensive time away, it’s because things were not automated and systematized. Your sales system can and should be automated and systematized. We’re holding an advanced training the day before our members-only September CBF retreat focused entirely on systematizing your sales process.

In order to create freedom in your business, you have to have these five components automated and systematized. All of the pieces of your business need to be set up to work without you as a necessary part. Once you have all five of those pieces running smoothly, then the sky’s the limit as to how big you can grow your business.

So how do you create a hands-free business? It is only possible through using systems and processes, and following a formula that works. I’ve been following the same formula for over twenty-five years that I have taught cleaning business owners around the world for the past twelve years.

Are you ready to do this? Join the CBF community and take your business to the next level. If your business is a good fit and if I know I can help you get to the next level, then you will be invited to enroll in this year-long mentorship program designed to completely transform your business.
